I'm writing from you from the other side of the world, Africa. To be back home feels surreal, but I'll update you another time with a whole lot of photos. 


The new year means new beginnings, and to be honest, the thought of fresh challenges scares me. The new years means a new school year, new challenges and more. But also the new year means new goals and new moments of happiness, and that is something to look forward to. I decided today that I would list my top ideas on how to best prepare for the new year. 

Digital Restart
Review your contacts, delete old photos, clear your history, change up your social media. Digital clutter can be just as detrimental to your mentality as piles of junk on your desk. 

Whilst decluttering your digital space, you may as well clean up your physical environment as well. Clean your desk, tidy out your cupboard and throw away all the pointless things that collect over the year. This will enforce the good old saying 'a tidy space makes a tidy mind.' 

Both short and long term goals are such good motivators to help keep your mind on track in the new year. Whether it's little things like less procrastination, or big things like finishing school, all things count and matter, and when you have a goal in your mind, you are creating the first step in your journey to achieving it. 

Specific Health Goals
Undoubtably we've all had the new year resolution to 'be healthy' or 'get fit' but there is an unlimited number of perceptions of what 'healthy' actually is. By having goals like 'go to the gym twice a week' or 'go for a run after school/work' it will help your goals to be more achievable. 

Let Go of Toxic People
Negative people are like poison; the sooner you extract those people from your life, the happier you will be. Let go of those people who pull you down and drown you in their negativity. Don't let anyone dull your sparkle, you are a brave, strong person and cutting off loose ends only allows you to strive.
