Welcome back to another blog post!

I was inspired by Glossier to do a blog post all about enhancing your natural beauty and highlighting, instead of hiding your face.

I thought this was such an important message, because we should feel just as confident barefaced as we are when we are wearing a full face of makeup. So many people hide behind foundations, mascaras and lipsticks and I think that although makeup is something that is fun to do, it shouldn't be about hiding our face, it should instead be about enhancing our face.

I decided to come up with my essentials that help me feel confident in my skin, and help me highlight my natural beauty.

Water
I cannot stress how important water is for our skin, and not only our skin, our whole body. Water keeps your face looking fresh and healthy and can definitely help to maintain a more balanced skin type (less oily but also less dry).

A Good Shower Gel
There is nothing better than using a good quality, nice smelling shower gel. It not only makes my skin feel amazing, but it also just makes me feel so fresh and 'ready' for the day. I absolutely love this Strawberry Shower Gel from The Body Shop.

Face Mask
Hands down my absolute favourite face mask is the Lush Cosmetics Mask of Magnaminty. This mask is so refreshing, when putting it on it instantly makes your face seem so much more awake. I also love how good it is at calming breakouts and reducing redness. If you haven't tried this product do yourself a favour and go to your nearest Lush and get some!

Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse
To be honest I haven't tried many self tanners, but why should I when I have found the perfect one? This was sent to me by Cocoa Brown ages ago and I absolutely love it! It is so easy and non-messy to apply. It says it lasts for 7 days and it certainly does!

Highlighter
I feel like no makeup is ever complete without a good highlighter, I have tried a few but nothing ever compares to my Stila Eyeshadow in Kitten. It is beautiful and is so pigmented.

Body Lotion
Body/face lotion makes me feel so lovely, it also is so good for you as well! This body lotion I got a while ago for my birthday and it is one of the best ones I have ever used.

Tinted Moisturiser
This NARS tinted moisturiser is simply amazing. It is very sheer, but adds so much glow to your skin I feel radiant when I wear it. If you are after something moisturising, dewy and sheer, this is for you.

If you haven't already you can have a look at Glossier's product page for some more products that enhance you.
It is so important to look after your body, and I truly hope this post has given you some ideas on how to enhance YOU.

I live in Australia and on the 26th of January was 'Australia Day.' If you go out on Australia Day the people are a sea of red, blue and white, representing the Australian Flag.
The typical 'Aussie Day' celebrations include a 'barbie' (BBQ) and a trip to the beach, of course.
With Australia Day on Tuesday, I decided to come up with an Australia Day-inspired style set.

When approached by Farfetch, a store with 300 labels including Chloe, Givenchy and Saint Laurent, I was inspired to do a blog post by Farfetch, talking about have a style set/wishlist based off the theme of Australia Day.
I'll go from left to right talking about each product. Keep in mind FarFetch is home to many designer labels, and therefore the cost of each garment will be quite high. But this is a wishlist, meaning, a girl can dream!

The first us a pair of white jeans, by the designer Ann Demeulemeester, I think these jeans are a perfect transitional piece and is definitely something that I find beautiful. I've never really got into white jeans, but I feel like these would be a nice experiment.

This beautiful bralet is by the designer Giulianna Romanno, and is a beautiful strappy bralet that would look so good under so many things.

Grid has been a major trend recently, and this sweater is the perfect addition. It is from Derek Lam, and I love the face that it is navy, instead of the typical black and white grid print.

This shirt I want want want! I think the little wink is so cute, and I love how the open eye is looking to the left, t's definitely my favourite piece out of the whole style set!

These striped shorts are to-die-for, and pleated at the front. The are a simple piece, that can be dressed up or down and therefore are super versatile! Definitely a staple in any wardrobe.

Navy is such a good transitional piece, into spring or summer, and I definitely love this top by Jason Wu. I feel like it would go beautifully with the white jeans I mentioned earlier.

This sun top reminds me so much of summer, and is a beautiful piece that will help to hang on to the last few weeks of summer here in Australia.

I don't know what it is about this jumper but I love it! It's so simple yet still quite cute with it's sequin detail.

The next item is this pair of pink shorts which are tailored and quite classy, yet still can be dressed down to something more casual. I love the colour, and I feel like it would be a perfect addition to my closet, since nearly everything is black, white and denim.

This bag is such a cute simple bag with a shoulder strap. The colour is gorgeous and I feel like it would compliment most outfits! This bag is from Lanvin, and I feel like they hit the nail on the head with this piece!

I hoped you all enjoyed this post! A massive thanks to Farfetch for inspiring me to write this blog post!

What was your favourite piece?

Welcome to another episode of Travel Diaries. Read by previous entry here, where I visited Durban. The next stop on our journey was Newcastle, a small town where most of my family lived, and where we spent Christmas and New Year.

We drove up from Durban which was about a 3 and a half hour drive, but good snacks, good company and a good destination made it bearable.

When we were there we stayed in my dad's aunt and uncles, Glynis and Gareth's, house. It was a lovely lovely house, extremely unique and warm. Glynis and Gareth were extremely welcoming, they opened up their arms to us, and made their home feel like ours.
The also had four dogs, so as you can imagine, I was in doggie heaven!

We also got to spend time with more of our cousins, which was awesome. They had grown up and it was so much fun hanging out with them, especially after not seeing them for so long, and they had a new dog, called Vegas who wore a very cute christmas outfit.

We also had a huge christmas eve party with all our extended family (probably about 70 people) and it was awesome! It was definitely quality family time.

That was pretty much all we did, spend time with family, which was actually probably the best way to spend our time, seeing as though we hadn't seen any family in what felt like forever.

This post is going to be a guest article, written by the people as Squirrelz, a very unique company selling beautiful hand crafted goods with positive social and environmental impacts.
I hope you all enjoy!

Eden Jewelry Provides A Brighter And Safer Future For Rescued Women

Eden Jewelry upcycles jewelry for a good cause

When we reached out to Brittany and told her about Eden Jewelry, she was eager to support such a good cause. Eden Jewelry began in 2003 when two housewives became intent on helping the women caught in the wheels of human trafficking and red light districts in their city. They began to reach out to people within the industry, both the victims, and perpetrators. Twelve years later, Eden has established multiple shelters in the major trafficking hubs of Asia and changed the lives of thousands within Asia's sex industry. How? Eden does not only rescue women from their abusive environments, they also provide them with a fair wage occupation, designing and crafting some of the most beautiful and positive jewelry ever made.

This colorful piece of Eden Jewelry supports a good cause with a natural, beautiful and meaningful look.

Each purchase of these beautiful pieces assists the organization in helping more women have brighter futures, with a fair wage occupation in a safe environment. But it's not like you'd need an excuse to buy Eden Jewelry. Every single necklace, earring and bracelet speaks for itself. Because of their focus on product diversity and comfort, Eden Jewelry has a collection that's like no other: designs come from the Eden organization and even those rescued themselves! By learning the craft of jewelry making, these women saved can start a new life creating beauty: classic jewelry with a personal touch.

The vast majority of women in the sex industry did not choose the life they were forced into. They were tricked by deception, or their naivety was abused. Each piece of jewelry from Eden comes with a story about one of the women rescued. Both heartbreaking and inspirational, these stories show the impact a simple purchase has on the lives of so many girls. Eden has taken it upon themselves to help them in all ways possible. Profits from jewelry sales have already paid for the learning of trade skills, healthcare, and their children's education. Even the act of creating these lovely pieces has had a profound therapeutic effect on the new artists. One thing is clear, though: Eden Jewelry is not just a feel-good purchase, but a beautiful package and cause worth supporting.

Sales from Eden Jewelry help to sustain Eden's hard and life changing work for thousands of women.
As a lot of you probably know, I have been in South Africa for the past month, and Internet has been scarce, meaning it has been very hard to blog. I’ve done a few Instagram posts explaining my absence, and I have also done a New Years post, which you can have a look at here.

This new series is called ‘Travel Diaries’ and is going to be all about my holiday in South Africa.

The Flight To South Africa

The first place I stopped in was Durban, which is my hometown and where I spent the first 4 years of my life. We were extremely busy in Durban, visiting heaps and heaps of old friends as well as some family. We spent a lot of time with my cousins, which was nice as I hadn't seen them in 5 years. They had all grown up so much, and to be honest I thought it was going to be a bit awkward seeing as though we hadn't seen them in so long, but it was the opposite of awkward. We had so much fun together, it was probably one of the highlights of my trip.

Walking a Nature Trail

A stand-out event that happened in Durban was that we went to Etala Game Reserve.

Etala Game Reserve

We went on a safari with a ranger and he took us around the reserve, looking at all the animals. Etala was beautiful and I would highly recommend it. We saw Giraffes, Rhino, Buck, Ostriches and Zebra and it really gave me the true african experience.

The rest of our time in Durban was spent seeing family and friends.
That's all for this Travel Diaries post, the next one will be about the city of Newcastle.

I'm writing from you from the other side of the world, Africa. To be back home feels surreal, but I'll update you another time with a whole lot of photos.

~

The new year means new beginnings, and to be honest, the thought of fresh challenges scares me. The new years means a new school year, new challenges and more. But also the new year means new goals and new moments of happiness, and that is something to look forward to. I decided today that I would list my top ideas on how to best prepare for the new year.

Digital Restart
Review your contacts, delete old photos, clear your history, change up your social media. Digital clutter can be just as detrimental to your mentality as piles of junk on your desk.

Declutter
Whilst decluttering your digital space, you may as well clean up your physical environment as well. Clean your desk, tidy out your cupboard and throw away all the pointless things that collect over the year. This will enforce the good old saying 'a tidy space makes a tidy mind.'

Goals
Both short and long term goals are such good motivators to help keep your mind on track in the new year. Whether it's little things like less procrastination, or big things like finishing school, all things count and matter, and when you have a goal in your mind, you are creating the first step in your journey to achieving it.

Specific Health Goals
Undoubtably we've all had the new year resolution to 'be healthy' or 'get fit' but there is an unlimited number of perceptions of what 'healthy' actually is. By having goals like 'go to the gym twice a week' or 'go for a run after school/work' it will help your goals to be more achievable.

Let Go of Toxic People
Negative people are like poison; the sooner you extract those people from your life, the happier you will be. Let go of those people who pull you down and drown you in their negativity. Don't let anyone dull your sparkle, you are a brave, strong person and cutting off loose ends only allows you to strive.

What are your tips for the New Year?
