In today’s blog post we are talking makeup, specifically the Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palette in the shade Ablaze. My boyfriend gifted this to me at Christmas time, and boy oh boy was I proud of him because a. he bought makeup for the first time in his life and b. he bought my new favourite palette.

This palette has a gorgeous shade range of fire-y colours (hence the name, Ablaze). It has 3 matte shades, 1 semi-matte shade and 4 shimmery shades, of which all are super warm-toned. The eyeshadows themselves are super pigmented, so pigmented I panicked the first time I used them because I had never tried anything so pigmented. The panic didn’t last long however, because as soon as I got my blending brush out I realised how blend-able they all are.

At first, I thought this would be a ‘fancy’ palette. You know, the eyeshadow palettes you reserve for those makeup days or nights where you want a full glam and bold eye look. I was right, but also wrong because this palette is both. The matte red looks gorgeous when blended out into the crease and left like that but looks amazing when layering with other colours. My only slight miss with this palette was there was no matte warm toned brown. However, I feel like that’s in every palette now, plus you can just use your bronzer, so that isn’t really a big downside for me, however if you like everything in one palette, you might not like it.

It’s also so small I can carry it everywhere, to work? yep. Travelling? Yep. Popping to the shops? Yes. Which is hard to find with the ever-growing size of eyeshadow palettes lately.

This palette is a whole lot of yes. So yes, you should go and buy it and enjoy its warmth (pun intended).

Love always,

I have been quite sick lately, I had the flu which seemed to linger forever, and even now, two weeks later I still have a sniffily nose. Normally I am okay with the flu. I still go to work, still get on with my life and still function. This time it was not the case, it was one of the worst versions of the flu I have ever encountered.

I then woke up and there was a lovely little package on my door step. It was a beautiful carbon-fibre case from It actually could not have come at a better time.
Alex, from the case company, kindly sent this to me, and boy-oh-boy was I excited to receive it.

I had had my eye on a carbon-fibre case for my iPhone 7 Plus for quite some time, but couldn't justify the price of them in all honesty, plus I had only ever seen them in black, and I'm a silver-loving-girl.

On Alex's website there wasn't any Silver Carbon-Fibre cases, so I sent her an email asking and ka-boom; there was a silver case waiting for me.

I would like to take a moment to spread the word about, they have SO many cute cases and some great basic ones too. Also the prices are amazing! You can grab this case for $16.90 plus free shipping.

Honestly it's amazing how something so small can turn your day around. Receiving this on the day where I thought nothing could go right, was a little blessing. So, I encourage you to be kind. Turn someone's day around, just like Alex turned mine around.

Love Always,

I saw this lettuce-trend-thingo on instagram for the first time, I think it was the Topshop instagram. Anyways, I saw it and fell in love with it.
Basically this "lettuce" I am in love with (which unfortunately has 0 nutritional value) is a lettuce hem. It's like a wavy, funky, hem that makes any top instantly cuter.

I own a few pieces with this gorgeous hem detail, and it's safe to say it's one of my new favourite ways to spice up a plain basic.
Also can we have a moment for the colour of my top... it's like a cuteness overload, seriously.

Also this trend is perfect for the transitional season, whether you're heading into Spring or Autumn. For me in Australia, I've been wearing this top all winter, yet it's also the perfect piece for the slightly warmer days we've been getting.
I'm excited for Spring. As much as I love the excuse of "it's too cold to do anything", spring time brings new fashion, blooming flowers, warmth, colour and a change.

How are you all?
Hope you've been well.

Love always,
Brittany x
