These photos hold one of my favourite memories. It was a warm night earlier in the year and Marcus had just got new glasses and bought a Manfrotto Lumimuse 3 LED Light. We decided to take some portraits using it, and boy oh boy did some awesome photos come out of it.

We used the light and some ordinary household items. To create some of the shadows we placed the camera light into candle holder that had a pattern around it's perimeter. To create the light effects we placed the camera light in a $3 holographic pencil case from Kmart. We did not expect much of the night, I just loved how he looked in his cute little new frames and he actually let me take photos of him!

Some of them are blurry and not so perfect but they all hold this sense of 'fun seriousness' in them.

Now, let's see how long it takes for Marcus to ask me to take down this post (which will not happen... hehe).

Hello Everyone!

Oh what an exciting past week it has been. I took my first week of paid leave, turned nineteen, went on a trip to the fabulous Melbourne and basically just had a very good 7 days.

Me and my boyfriend, Marcus, had begun planning this trip a while ago. We normally do little holidays for each others birthdays but they are short distances that are nothing more than an hour or two in the car, but we decided to up the game a little. So, we booked a trip to Melbourne.
Marcus and I have been drooling over Melbourne for as long as we've known each other; it was always one of our top travel destinations, and one of the most achievable, considering it was less than a 3 hour flight.

We had both never been on a flight without responsible adults surrounding us, so it felt like we were totally out of our league, but we were totally ready.

and boy, oh boy, Melbourne, you are incredible.

Here are some pictures and highlights from the trip.

Hope you enjoyed this little snippet of our quick trip in Melbourne.
And I promise you, we will definitely be visiting again soon.

Love always,
Britt

In today’s blog post we are talking makeup, specifically the Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palette in the shade Ablaze. My boyfriend gifted this to me at Christmas time, and boy oh boy was I proud of him because a. he bought makeup for the first time in his life and b. he bought my new favourite palette.

This palette has a gorgeous shade range of fire-y colours (hence the name, Ablaze). It has 3 matte shades, 1 semi-matte shade and 4 shimmery shades, of which all are super warm-toned. The eyeshadows themselves are super pigmented, so pigmented I panicked the first time I used them because I had never tried anything so pigmented. The panic didn’t last long however, because as soon as I got my blending brush out I realised how blend-able they all are.

At first, I thought this would be a ‘fancy’ palette. You know, the eyeshadow palettes you reserve for those makeup days or nights where you want a full glam and bold eye look. I was right, but also wrong because this palette is both. The matte red looks gorgeous when blended out into the crease and left like that but looks amazing when layering with other colours. My only slight miss with this palette was there was no matte warm toned brown. However, I feel like that’s in every palette now, plus you can just use your bronzer, so that isn’t really a big downside for me, however if you like everything in one palette, you might not like it.

It’s also so small I can carry it everywhere, to work? yep. Travelling? Yep. Popping to the shops? Yes. Which is hard to find with the ever-growing size of eyeshadow palettes lately.

This palette is a whole lot of yes. So yes, you should go and buy it and enjoy its warmth (pun intended).

Love always,
Britt
